Dr. Steven Vold is a fellowship-trained glaucoma and cataract surgeon who brings to St. Luke’s a distinguished career spanning patient care, surgical innovation, education, and physician leadership.
Dr. Vold founded Vold Vision in 2011 following a career in academic medicine, where he served as Vice Chairman of Ophthalmology and Director of the Division of Glaucoma at the Scott and White Eye Institute. He has remained deeply engaged in advancing the field throughout his career through teaching, research, product development, and professional collaboration, including co-founding the American-European Congress of Ophthalmic Surgery.
As accomplished as his career has been, Steven is most excited about this next chapter for the chance to be part of a strong team. He places tremendous value on collaboration and on learning from the physicians, optometrists, clinical teams, and staff around him. He’s passionate about delivering exceptional patient care, contributing to the communities St. Luke’s serves, and finding new ways to advance cataract and glaucoma treatment.
Outside of medicine, Steven’s greatest priority is his family. He’s the proud father of six children, including five daughters, and treasures being present and engaged in their lives. In his free time, he enjoys golf and other sports, playing piano, composing music, and traveling.
Steven is looking forward to getting to know the St. Luke’s team and to contributing, collaborating, and becoming part of the culture that makes St. Luke’s such a special place for patients and staff alike.
